Research and Education Rooted in Clinical Practice

Our Clinical Research Center collaborates with many universities, hospitals, and research institutions to promote research in all fields of medicine that connects the results of basic medical research to actual clinical practice. Currently, experts in each field are leading a wide range of themes, from basic research on infectious diseases, immunity, and cancer to clinical trials aimed at standardizing treatments.

Our center is in the National Hospital Organization Nagoya Medical Center (NMC) and has a research building independent from the hospital. Our core mission is "clinical research" that leads to the development and practice of advanced medical technologies, and we collaborate not only with NMC but also with medical institutions nationwide to carry out high-quality research activities in clinical practice.

In addition to close collaboration with NMC, the Infection and Immunity Research Department functions as a collaborative graduate school course of Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. By actively accepting many graduate students, postdocs, and visiting researchers, we have created a fine environment for conducting research rooted in clinical practice. The education program is managed by experienced staff who conduct research using competitive funding under the guidance of the center director, and NMC physicians also actively participate in research. These activities are systematically supported by specialized departments such as the Clinical Research Planning and Management Department, the Clinical Research Division, the Advanced Medical Research Department, the Infection and Immunity Research Department, and the Advanced Diagnostic Research Department.
